The Survey Group

The Survey group manages surveying activities in Denmark and overseas, ranging from drilling and construction surveys to support of seismic exploration surveys, both on- and offshore.
The group provides technical services within geodesy and Geomatics, coordinate data management, mapping, remote sensing and GIS.

The position

The key responsibilities of this position are development and management of Geographical Information Systems in support of business processes:

- GIS data models for storage of geospatial data.

- Population and maintenance of GIS databases.

- GIS based map production processes.

- Integrated visualisation of multiple data types.

- Templates and cartographic standards for computer generated maps.

- Expert advice and technical services in support of GIS users.

The person

The right candidate is a team player with an analytical and inquiring mind, able to set targets and achieve them and act on own initiative. He/she will be able to demonstrate the strong personal drive and commitment necessary to produce high quality results under challenging conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to apply considerable effort into developing the skills required to fulfil the position, not only the technical aspects but also in the areas of project and contract management and the underlying commercial principles.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate is expected to be qualified at BSc or MSc level within geo-information science and to have experience of GIS project management, implementation and maintenance of GIS databases and visualisation of geospatial data. Previous experience from the oil and gas industry is desirable. He or she must have strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in the English language, and the ability to interact and communicate clearly with third party contractors as well as colleagues across departmental boundaries.
